Narrative & World Building

Inspired by Pu. La. Deshpande's satirical writing on imagined futures and the visual language of Barbarella (1968), Mi Phularaja explores a speculative world built around hyper-misandry. While Barbarella presented an interstellar future that continued to objectify its female protagonist despite its futuristic setting, this project imagines an alternate trajectory where existing gendered power structures are inverted rather than erased.

An illustrated speculative world exploring isolation, memory, and imagination.
